The Gas Kiln

A very kind Facebook friend of mine, Tim Bartell, kindly gave me an old Laser gas kiln he is no longer using. It is currently in the process of being refurbished by Duncan Bull and should be up and running in time for the warmer weather this summer.
I built a rudimentary base out of some paving, and bricks and then we set about building a shed to house the kiln. I bought a cheap shed on the internet which had the right depth and width dimension, but when it arrived I discovered it was designed for a hobbit. This has been resolved by adding 4″ of pallet wood to the base and standing the kiln in bricks instead of it’s base. This provides enough room above the kiln to fit in the chimney.
